Hello, I am excited to be teaching at Marrama again this year! During my 20+ year career in education, I have worked as an environmental educator, classroom teacher, evaluator of educational programs, and as an education director for medical education programs. Before joining the Marrama staff, I worked as a reading intervention teacher at another DPS school.
I have a BA In environmental education from Warren Wilson College and an MA in educational psychology (research and evaluation methods emphasis) from the University of Colorado Denver. I am currently working on a graduate certificate in reading science from Mount Saint Joseph University, which includes Orton-Gillingham training. I am loving learning even more about how to teach reading.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time outside with my husband and our daughter, who is also a DPS elementary student! I love gardening and hanging out in our backyard as well as hiking, camping, and skiing. I also love reading, preferably with our orange cat purring in my lap.
