Hello there! My name is Meggan Burke, and I am excited to be a fifth grade teacher at Marrama for the 2026-2027 school year! This year is my nineteenth year in elementary education; I have taught every grade from kindergarten to sixth grade. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Longwood University in Virginia. This year is especially fun because I am getting to teach a lot of the same students I taught in first grade, that are now in fifth! I love help my students grow and develop a love of learning! I love teaching all subjects, and am so inspired by the growth I see each year with my students.
When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time reading, exploring with my husband, second grade daughter, and two year old daughter. We love to visit new places, try new food, and make new memories as a family. This is the third state we have lived and explored in, we lived in Virginia and Texas before! We also have a fur-baby named Cleo; she is a sweet black cat.
