My name is Ms. Rivers, and I am excited to be your 5th grade ELD and Language Arts teacher here at Marrama Elementary. Go Mustangs! This is my 25th year as an educator in Denver Public Schools and my fourth year teaching at Marrama. I have taught many grade levels from fourth grade through eighth grade, but fifth is my favorite!
This year I am sharing a class with Mrs. Clark. She will teach math and science in the mornings, and I will be teaching reading and writing in the afternoons at Marrama. I will also be working a second job in the mornings (and sometimes evenings too) narrating audiobooks for the blind or otherwise impaired. It is an incredible feeling to do something I love that will help others develop a love for books, too.
On weekends, I enjoy hiking in the mountains and spending quality time with family and friends. Some of you may know that I also love to knit and crochet as well in my spare time. Would you like to learn one day?
