Dear Families,

Welcome to a new and exciting school year! My name is Mr. Vargas, and I am thrilled to be your child’s third grade teacher. I hope your family had a restful and joyful summer. As we begin this new chapter together, I want to take a moment to introduce myself and share how honored I am to be part of your child’s learning journey.

I am originally from Colombia and bring over 19 years of teaching experience in Virginia, North Carolina, Washington D.C. and now beautiful Colorado. My background includes teaching languages to elementary school students both here in the U.S. and Colombia. I’m passionate about creating a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom where every child feels seen, heard, and inspired to learn.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the movies with my wife, who is also a teacher, and our six-years-old son, Emmanuel. As a family, we love exploring cultural activities such as concerts, theater, museums, and parks. We also enjoy listening to music and trying out new places to eat together.

This year, I look forward to working in close partnership with you to support your child’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference, and I encourage you to participate in our classroom community in any way you can—whether it’s through volunteering, attending school events, or simply staying in touch.
