Projections
We have a grade-level that is under projections.
Background/Collaborative Discussion and Problem Solving
Last March, the percentage of students was lower than expected with regards to the READ Act. Additionally staff resources were utilized to support these students. We then anticipated the need for extra teachers to provide reading support for the 25-26 school year. Now, the number of students must sustain the need for this additional staff support. Current Kinder enrollment is lower than expected. If the number does not meet at least 75 pupils, we will need to have a reduction in building to sustain the current budget. The teacher that is reduced in building will have another position in DPS. The Kinder teachers will need to interview.
We are currently mandated to have an ELA-S teacher at our school.
The students will then have to be divided and placed in the remaining classrooms.
Norma Torres will still be able to provide additional support to the remaining students for literacy.
We will continue to closely track student data and progress. DIBELS outcomes will be closely monitored as well.
In the future, we will need to have deeper discussions about our budget for the 26-27 school year and beyond.
