Hi, I’m Mrs. Terry Southwell (or Mrs. Southwell to make it shorter) and I teach music at Marrama!
A little bit about myself, I am a musician, educator, traveler, new mom, and nerdy person. Instruments are my specialty, yet I still love and appreciate all sorts of music. In 2013 I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with my bachelor’s in both music performance and music education. I perform across the state in various groups, including the Rocky Mountain Brassworks, Colorado Brass, Colorado Wind Ensemble, and others. For 10 years I was part of the Symphonic Anime Orchestra as a performer and conductor where we specialized in video game and anime music. As a Colorado native, I love the outdoors, hiking, camping, trail running, disc golf, and I enjoy traveling with my husband Ian and friends. Now we have our son, Nathan, to include in our adventures!
I am excited to be back in person at Marrama and rockin’ in music class! We will be exploring instruments, singing, dancing, hip hop, sound effects, composing, improvising, and creating music both live and digitally.
