Hello Families!

My name is Jessica Cawthon and I will be the new MI-S teacher this school year at Marrama Elementary.

A little bit about me:

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Denver in 2017.  I received my Master’s Degree from Brooklyn College and am licensed in Early Childhood Education, as well as Students with Disabilities.  I have been teaching since 2010. Dancing has been a passion of mine since I was a child and I make sure to include dance parties into our school schedules often.  I am so excited for the new adventure that awaits us this year!

Class Protocols & Procedures:

I know that having a new teacher will be an adjustment for us all, but I cannot wait to get to know everything about your child.

The children will have Friday Folders to bring home any paperwork or classwork at the end of the week, and can be used as a form of communication between home and school.  The children will bring home the Friday Folders on Friday afternoons and they should be returned to school with your child on Monday mornings. Monthly newsletters will be sent home in the Friday Folders at the beginning of each month to inform you of classroom happenings and any important upcoming events.  If you ever need to contact me please leave a communication in the Friday Folders, email me at or call Marrama Elementary and ask to be connected to my classroom, room 102.

Family involvement is always appreciated in my classroom.  We will have class celebrations throughout the year that I encourage you to participate in with us.  I will provide more detailed information regarding each event as we approach them throughout the year.  Please feel free to join the class for breakfast any morning you have the time. If you would like to spend time throughout the school day with us, please contact me and we will arrange a date and time that works for all of us.  I do ask that you wait until the beginning of October to come into school for a visit during the day. This will allow me the chance to establish my classroom expectations with the children, as well as build an appropriate and positive relationship with them.  I know it is a bit unnerving having someone new take care of your child, but I assure you I do not take the responsibility lightly.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.  I am so thrilled to be a part of this Marrama family! ~ Ms. C
